I‘ve been very busy since turning 40.

But I can still remember how it felt, stood there naked in front of the mirror and being honest about what I saw… And what I felt about the guy looking back at me.

I felt utterly miserable…

Bottom line I felt significantly older than my years.

But that long, cold, honest inventory of myself turned out to be one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life.

Because I finally admitted something wasn’t right.

And I finally accepted full responsibility for putting it right.

Because if I didn’t turn this ship around…

Who else was going to?

Since that moment I’ve never stopped looking, learning, experimenting and searching for proven ways to stack the odds of living and ageing well in your favour.

And there’s a lot to choose from my friend.

But in true 80/20 style, for each of the 4 components of ZEN+ there are simple actions you can take that promise to give you the best bang for your buck.

1. Zest – Fantastic Sleep. Over the years I’ve done so much research on sleep I could write a book about it. Oh, wait… I did =) Truth is, getting great sleep has a knock on effect on all areas of your life:

3. Nutrition – Intermittent Fasting (IF). When it came to nutrition it was a toss up between this and avoiding processed food. But by intermittent fasting your window for eating junk is dramatically reduced.

So you get the best of both worlds.

IF in a nutshell means 14 to 16 hours without food each day.

And the easiest way to do this is simply to have your breakfast at midday.

Of course if you’re one of the few folk who can’t possibly imagine going through the morning without food, you could simply stop eating at 4 or 5pm instead and have your breakfast at 7am.

You’re simply giving your body more time in a fasted state so it can:

You’ve gotta admit that’s a lot of cool stuff in return for doing all your eating in an 8 hour window instead of a 16 hour window.

Gratitude is my go to guy.

I know of no faster way to get rid of harmful stinking thinking than to make a quick list of 10 things I’m grateful for.
