ZEN+ : Helping you Stay Young and Age Well

Unleash your inner Sammy…

By Marcus Santer

I turned off the TV…

I unplugged everything…

And as Clarabella walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth I turned around to take Sammy the Cat downstairs.

Sammy has many different places he likes to sleep in the house.

Depends on what time of day it is.

And in the evening he prefers to sleep on a fleecy blanket on the back of the sofa.

I stopped in my attempt to pick him up, because in that moment I didn’t have the heart to disturb him. He looked so happy, peaceful and at rest.

He was all curled up like a warm, furry walnut.

And I swear he had a smile on his face – Of course I’m projecting human characteristics onto an animal – But he seemed genuinely content.

However I know from experience you can’t leave him upstairs at night.

Not unless you want to be disturbed at ’Stoopid O’Clock’ by him scratching to get into the bedroom.

So I apologised and picked him up.

He meowed weekly in protest as I scooped him up in my arms and carried him downstairs and put him on the chair.

Which, being a cat, he promptly jumped out of.

Making sure his bowl was full of munchies I looked up, and said goodnight to Louis and Sammy.

Now as pleasant and homely as this scene is, you might be wondering what it has to do with the ZEN+ project.

Fair question…

Let me explain…

You know how important sleep is, right?

And how it forms one of the major foundations upon which your health, strength and vitality are built upon?

Well, sometimes – in spite of doing everything right:

And so on.

You just can’t seem to get to sleep.

Have you ever experienced that?

Well I did last night

And as I lay there I remembered Sammy.

I brought to mind just how totally switched off and asleep he looked before I’d picked him up.

And I thought about what I’d have to do to look that asleep.

So I relaxed my body

Calmed my mind

Got into my most comfy sleep position

And released my inner Sammy.

Constantly keeping holding the image of him gently in my mind.

Did it work?

You bet it did.

And you can be certain I’ll be adding it to my arsenal of tools to use on nights when The Sandman doesn’t want to visit.

So if you’ve got a pet or a child I suggest you pay attention to what they look like fast asleep.

Really spend some time observing and wondering what you’d have to do to be as:

Relaxed and at peace to look like them when you’re asleep.

And let me know how you get on.

Of course, this is a tip to be used AFTER you’ve used the big guns to help you get fantastic sleep.

And in case you don’t know what they are yet…

And you want to get better sleep and wake in a morning feeling refreshed and good to go…

I recommend you make this your next stop:

The Sleep Solution: A 28-Day program to help you sleep like a baby and wake up feeling refreshed and good to go.

Bye for now
