ZEN+ : Helping you Stay Young and Age Well

The Triple Whammy that increases your risk of early death by 4 times…

By Marcus Santer

It was tempting not to write a Z+ Daily today.

What with being up super early and driving my parents to catch their coach to Harrogate.

It’s 09:20 and I’ve just got back in.

But what the hell.

I stumbled across an interesting study over the weekend and wanted to tell you about it and one of their findings.

The study is called: 45 and Up

It’s Australia’s largest study (over 230,000 participants) looking at the health of its population as it ages.

I’m looking forward to keeping an eye on this longitudinal study.

But I’m pretty certain it’s findings will enforce what you and I already know…

That the key to living and ageing well is to install and maintain a few simple habits into your daily life.

I was reading this article: Traditional and Emerging Lifestyle Risk Behaviours and All-Cause Mortality in Middle-Aged and Older Adults: Evidence from a Large Population-Based Australian cohort

Hey I read this stuff so you don’t have to =)

But to be honest, it is a really good read if you’ve got a spare couple of hours.

If you haven’t I can sum it up by saying:

If you indulge in ‘The Triple Whammy’: A lack of exercise + Too much sitting + Too much sleep = You’re 4 times more likely to die as a person who gets…

150+ minutes of exercise a week + Less than 7 hours sitting a day + 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night.

This study showed that combinations of lifestyle habits can have more powerful results than when they’re looked at in isolation.

The study also found other combinations of lifestyle habits that resulted in more than double the risk of early death:

Here’s a truth that no-one really wants to know:

Non-Communicable diseases (NCD) like:

Are responsible for more than 38 million deaths around the world.

That’s more deaths than from infectious disease.

But what is truly astonishing is that by adopting simple lifestyle habits you can significantly reduce your risk of NCD’s.

And it is as simple as that.

And if you’d like 120 tips to help you install these lifesaving habits so that you can avoid unnecessary pain, illness, and early death…

You really need to make this your next stop.

Bye for now

P.S. I know I go on about this.

And I’m going to keep going on about it.

Because according to 2014 statistics from the World Health Organisation – Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of death worldwide.

And that really upsets me… Because it doesn’t have to be this way.

To find out exactly what to do so that you can stack the odds of living and ageing well in your favour…
