Regret #2: I wish I hadn’t worked so hard…

You know what?

It’s getting closer to the time of year I’ve always dreaded…

The 6 week school holidays.

Let me explain…

Ollie is one of my biggest (and most favourite) distractions.

This is the week days usually work:

And all’s well.


During the 6 week school holidays, he’s usually hanging around the house – especially when Clarabella’s at work – playing computer games and watching brain rot on Youtube.

Whilst I’m trying to work and suffering a huge guilt complex.

So a few days ago I remembered a few things…

That folk like Rick Hanson and others I know take a whole month off during the Summer.

That the #2 regret of the dead and the dying is this:

I wish I hadn’t worked so hard – Take heed if you’re a man because this regret came from every male patient Bronnie nursed. “All of the men… deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence. They missed their children’s youth and their partner’s companionship.”

And I don’t want to be one of those men…

…So I’ve hatched a plan.

I’m planning to take as much of the 6 week school holidays off as possible.

Here’s how it’s going to work:

Hey, listen up…

The ZEN+ Project was never meant to be me telling you what to do to live and age well.

It’s about sharing what’s proven to work and being an example of what to do.

And I don’t do that by sitting here, slaving away in front of this computer, missing out on my son’s youth and Clarabella’s companionship.

Plus, this break means I can come back in September…

Refreshed, recharged and all those other words I like to use that begin with the word ‘Re’.

So that I’m in a stronger and healthier position to help you live better and age well.
