Public dissection anyone?

By Marcus Santer

The Sunday Quote:

“When health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, art cannot become manifest, strength cannot be exerted, wealth is useless and reason is powerless.”
Herophilos 325BC

A very interesting guy that Herophilos.

Around 300BC he was performing public dissections in Alexandria whilst explaining what he was doing to anyone interested enough.

Can you imagine just popping into town to watch a dissection?

Guess that’s what passed for entertainment back then =)

What he learned through his dissections proved of great value to medical scientist that were to follow.

He’s also credited as been one of the founders of the Scientific Method.

Which is beautifully illustrated by this picture:

The Scientific Method as an Ongoing Process

And he believed that exercise and diet were essential to health.

Blimey, I didn’t plan to go off on a history rant when I started today’s quote. Just goes to show you never know what’s going to happen when you start writing.

over every aspect of your life.

It sucks all of the joy out of life and makes everything hard work.

Which is why, if you’re smart…

You won’t wait until ill health forces you to adopt healthy lifestyle choices – though most folk do.

You’ll get started today.

But where to begin?

Glad you asked.

If you’d like easy access to:

Then you’ll make this your next stop.

Bye for now

P.S. I’m a little later than usual today.

Just got back from taking Clarabella for her driving lesson and taking Louis for a run on the beach.

It was so beautiful down on The Warren this morning I simply didn’t want to leave.

All misty, moody and full of atmosphere.

A good walk in nature is not only good for your health, it’s also good for your soul.

And regular walking must form part of your healthy lifestyle arsenal.

To find out why, and what other tools you need to stack the odds of a longer, healthier, and more independent life in your favour…
