I was out walking Louis this morning.

It’s been raining heavily for the last few days and the bit of track from the woods to the golf course – that Clarabella and I call: The Jungle Trek – is all squelchy with mud.

And as I was choosing where to step to try and avoid the deep parts that will suck your shoe off…

I had a thought.

And as I continued Louis walk, the thought became today’s ZEN+ Daily post:

The 3 kinds of food you want to avoid

1. Foods you don’t like – Sounds pretty obvious right? But I know from my own experience that I’ll force myself to eat foods just because I’ve been told they’re good for me.

But you know what?

There are so many foods that are good for you…

That if you don’t like one of them you can swap it for something else.

Truth is there’s plenty of food out there that’s good for you and tastes great.

2. Foods you have no control over – Maybe it’s just me… But if there’s a chocolate orange in the house…

That sucker is living on some seriously borrowed time.

I’ll tell myself I’m just going to eat half.

But in less time than you’d think possible the whole thing will be gone.

That’s:

In one hit.

So you know what I do?

I don’t walk past it in the supermarket – so it doesn’t end up in my basket – so it doesn’t end up in my cupboard at home – and then I can’t eat the whole damn thing later!

Do you have foods you have little or no control over? If so…

Avoid them.

3. Foods that you know are no good for you – Come on, you’re an intelligent person.

How can I be so sure?

Because only smart people read the Z+D.

And you know what’s good for you and what isn’t.

Here’s a quick test.

For each question choose the best food:

Of course you chose: A, B, B, A

Also the name of my favourite pop group when I was knee high to a grasshopper…

But I digress.

You know what’s good food and what isn’t.

Keep your food as real as possible.

The fewer ingredients the better.

And there you have it… The 3 kinds of food you’re best to avoid.
