ZEN+ : Simple, Direct, Effective : ZEN+ Benefits

It’s not just what you eat…

By Marcus Santer

I stood in the kitchen yesterday, eating my breakfast.

It was 1pm (more about that in a minute) and I couldn’t help but admire it.

Locally sourced, organically grown Kale with locally reared, grass fed Red Ruby steak.

In fact it looked so delicious I took a photo of it and you can see it here:

I must admit it took me a long time to get around to eating grass fed, locally reared beef. It’s relatively expensive and I live with a lifelong veggie.

Anyway…

What finally convinced me to stop eating meat from the deli counter at the supermarket was when I read something that went along the lines of:

It’s not just what you eat that’s important,
it’s what what you eat ate that matters too.

You might need to read that a couple of times.

If the animal that produced the meat or eggs you eat was raised on an unnatural diet, the nutritional quality and healthfulness of the food you eat will be compromised.

Cows for example evolved to eat grass.

That’s why they have a stomach with 4 chambers.

And yet in order to make them grow quickly they are fed an unnatural diet which effects their health.

And in case you’re wondering why I have my breakfast at 1pm? It’ because I fast for about 15 hours a day. I find it a simple way to tap into the benefits associated with fasting. Such as:

  1. Decreased body fat and weight
  2. Decreased blood glucose levels
  3. Decreased insulin levels and increased insulin sensitivity
  4. Increased growth hormone levels
  5. Increased cellular cleansing
  6. Improved brain health
  7. Improved digestion

Not a bad list of benefits huh?

You can find out more about fasting and the research supporting the benefit claims I’ve just made in my book: ZEN+ The Art and Science of Living Healthier for Longer.

Right, I’ve got to get back to work on the ZEN+ Home Study Course…

That thing isn’t going to create itself and I’m behind schedule already!

Bye for now

Marcus

P.S. Good, better, best.

I did have second thoughts about writing this post today, I know not everyone can afford the premium price that pasture reared cows cost.

But you’ll find plenty of less expensive and simple ways to improve your nutrition in the ZEN+ book.

Remember the N in ZEN+ stands for Nutrition.

I can sum it up here for you as:
