ZEN+ : Helping you Stay Young and Age Well

Infamous New York Madam’s most valuable asset

By Marcus Santer

I was talking with my business coach last week.

He likes to use stories to make his point and I had to share this one with you.

He told me about a Dutch Madam called Xaviera Hollander

Ever heard of her?

Me neither.

But apparently in 1972 she wrote a famous memoir called:

“The Happy Hooker – My Own Story”

Can’t say I’ve read it myself.

But my coach told me that in it, she revealed many things, one of which was how she built a luxury brothel in the heart of New York.

Which was no mean feat considering the police and the mafia were always trying to shut her down.

But she knew what her most valuable asset was.

Can you guess?

It was an asset that in spite of her being:

Always allowed her to come back and get it all back again and more.

The answer?

Her client list.

She knew if she had her client list she’d always be able to bounce back from whatever obstacle she was facing.

So what’s all this got to do with you?

Well, it made me realise that too often you and I get caught up in urgent, but usually unimportant, stuff and lose sight of our most valuable asset.

But if you take care of this asset, like Madam Hollander…

You’ll always bounce back from whatever obstacle you’re facing.

Trouble is, this asset tends to get quickly forgotten about and placed at the back of the queue when the heat is on.

And that’s a huge mistake.

You see, I believe the biggest asset you own is the body you’re in.

It’s the vehicle you use to explore this beautiful planet you live on.

And it’s the only one you’ve got and the only one you’re going to get.

Take care of it and it’ll take care of you.

Mistreat it and it won’t.

Truth is, no matter how much you mistreat it, your body is strong.

Much stronger than you might give it credit for.

You’d be amazed at how much abuse it can take before something breaks down.

You see, your body wants to be fit, strong and healthy.

And through the millennia it’s evolved many powerful, inbuilt self healing systems to stay this way with very little input from you. But as strong and powerful as your body is, poor lifestyle choices repeated over time will eventually cause it to malfunction.

Yet all is not lost.

The good news is, If there’s still breath flowing through your nostrils, you’ve time to make improvements.

But where do you start?

If you’d like a blueprint to help you make these improvements.

And if you’d like it as clear and simple as possible.

Or as Paul H. described it:

“You surely have a way of arranging in a very logical and thought provoking way all the important aspects of life. You also have a way of concisely writing about each topic while putting forth the most important information on that topic.”

And if this sounds like it could be of value to you.

Get this.

Bye for now

P.S. Ollie’s a happy camper.

My sister just sent me a text to tell me his school is shut for the day.

Something about a power cut.

But not to worry, I’ve still got a load of work lined up for him =)
