Life can be tough, but you’re tougher…

I’ve recently been studying Mike Gillette’s: The Psychology of Strength program.

It’s very good.

In one of the first videos he talks about adopting the belief I quoted above. I’m using it regularly as my new mantra. To help me keep moving forwards, in spite of the fear I might feel around taking ZEN+ out on the road.

I’ve been using mantra’s as part of my mental tool-kit for decades now.

Though when I first started I used to call them:

Affirmations.

5 years ago when I found I could no longer rob Peter to pay Paul – the people I owed money to, quite rightly came gunning for me.

During that time I used this mantra:

“Everything’s going to be alright.”

I’d repeat it over and over again, 100’s of times a day.

And eventually as I got help and worked through the mess I’d made, I started to believe that maybe, perhaps everything was going to be alright.

According to my dictionary:

Mantra: Sanskrit Literally ‘Instrument of thought’ from man ‘think’ – A word or sound repeated to aid concentration in meditation.

I use mantra’s to help keep me afloat when I feel lost at sea.

They’re simple, direct and powerful.

Qualities I look for in all the tools I use to live a stronger, healthier and happier life.
