Discover your life purpose in 5 questions and 5 minutes

By Marcus Santer

The Saturday quote:

“Destiny is not a matter of chance; it’s a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.”
Jeremy Kitson

I take no credit for the 5 questions in this Z+D, I simply discovered them whilst watching a video by Adam Leipzig.

Here are the Cliff notes:

Question 1: What is your first name? This is who you are.

Question 2: What do you love to do? If a lot of things come up for you focus it down by asking this one question: “What is the one thing, right now, you feel supremely qualified to teach other people?”

Question 3: Who do you do it for?

Question 4: What do these people want or need? That they’ve come to you for…

Question 5: How do they change or transform as a result of what you give them?

Here’s my own answers to give you an example:

  1. My name is Marcus…
  2. I love to teach people simple lifestyle tweaks they can use to live healthier, happier and longer lives…
  3. I work mainly with 40+ men…
  4. Who want to change how they look or feel…
  5. After working with me they feel stronger and look better than they have in years, sometimes decades

Simple.

Now then you might need to get a little creative with these 5 questions.

For example if you have trouble with Question 2, if you don’t feel supremely qualified to teach anybody anything. Then answer this question instead:

“If you had $100 million in liquid assets and every single possession you could ever want… What would get you bounding out of bed with excitement and uncontrollable enthusiasm every morning?”

Spend some time answering that question honestly and truthfully – and don’t worry you don’t need to share your answer with anyone.

Because there’s a good chance this is your life purpose.

Then answer the other questions and get started on making it a reality.

Now listen carefully…

I believe very few people are born knowing what they’re here to do, with a calling that drives them. But somehow the rest of us seem to think that destiny, inspiration, life purpose – call it what you will – is something that comes knocking on your door, that it’s something you have to wait for.

Screw that.

I realised years ago whilst answering a students question at a 4 Nations Gathering that you create your destiny, your life purpose.

And then you roll your sleeves up and work on making it real. Stop waiting for it land in your lap and go out and create it.

Right dog walking time.

Bye for now

Marcus
