Cliches to the max!

Sunday’s at 3pm, Me, Clarabella and Ollie sit down at the kitchen table and play Scrabble.

And last Sunday was no exception.

I can’t remember how this little ritual got started but it’s been going for a while now.


This time I got a fistful of great consonants, but no vowels and I was struggling.

Clarabella and Ollie were making mincemeat of me.

And no matter how hard I tried to rid myself of consonants, each dip in the letters bag saw me with a load more.

And then it happened.

I was able to put my ‘Z’ on a triple letter score, to make the word ZAG and **Boom** that 33 points put me into the lead.

Now you can probably see where this post is going.

And you’re right.

I am going to use it as a metaphor to demonstrate how it’s not the hand you’re dealt in life, it’s how you play it.

It’s not what happens to you that counts, it’s how you react to what happens.

Yeah, I know, I know.

Cliches to the max.

But guess what?

They’re true.

And especially true when it comes to your health and longevity.
